Maxi dress,Vintage 70s, Navy with bright ribbon, stars and sequin detail.
Wow…A really unusual vintage early 70s maxi dress. The label in this dress has been removed so please read the measurements carefully. It is made from navy polyester and we think it is a size 8/10. It is quite long. It has a V neckline and the arm holes are edged with yellow, red and green trim which continues for the entire length of the shoulder straps it is also all around the bottom hemline. The straps cross over at the back. This dress is pull on and it has no zip or buttons. There are two darts at the bust. The dress falls in A line to the floor. The right side has been customised by its original owner in a very striking way with red, white and yellow stars. And, silver sequins with clear glass seed beads in the centres. The yellow stars have yellow/gold bugle beads stitched onto them. It is very unusual and we are sure you won’t find another like it. Measurements; bust 32”, hips up to 37”/38”, length from shoulder to hemline 54” approx. Although this dress has been worn it is in very good condition for its age. There are no flaws or damage. The stars and sequins have been hand sewn on by the original owner and appear to be in good shape for their age. The stars are of the type that could have been either sewn or ironed on. This dress has lots of wear left in it and will add some 70s sparkle to your vintage collection.
